SUMMER GARDEN Blanket

FRAZADA “JARDIN VERANIEGO”

This is my version of Lucy’s (Attic 24) “Summer Garden Blanket”.  It was specially made for a baby girl.

These grannys have 4 rows.  I used the first two for the flower (in color), and the last two rows for the background (in white).

I used a mixture of medium acrylic yarn, mainly Caron Simply Soft, and others from my stash.  I used a hook 4.5 mm, though the yarn calls for a 5 mm (yes, you guessed it...I crochet a little loosely).

I made the border with the mosaic stitch—the same I used for my 3rd PlaidGranny Blanket.  For the final row: *sc over each dc (3), and then 3chains (a picot would do as well)*.  Simple, but cute.

You can find the pattern in the blog Attic24: Summer Garden Granny Square.  There is also a link in Ravelry, in case you want to mark it as a favourite.

  13. Hi Ana, Thank you for re-igniting my passion for crochet - I love your colours and designs. With this Summer Garden Blanket, how do you do the final pink edging?

    1. I completetly forgot to mention the last row. Thanks for pointing it out. It is actually VERY simple: sc over each dc (3), and 3 chains over the 1ch-space (a picot would do as well).
I am glad you are loving crochet again. It is so versatile, and fun. And, can I say "easier"? At least for me, it is. But I love knitting too, and I have some projects coming along...
      Thanks again, Lisa.

  24. This is such a beautiful blanket. Do you mind if I ask how long it took you to make? And also, what is the size of it?

    1. Thanks for your interest, Jessica. It took me just one month to make, because it is small (for a baby carriage). It measures 35x35" (or 89x89 cms.) It is so fun to make, and you rarely get bored because there are so many colours. The only boring thing are the loose ends, which you can fix as you move along instead of leaving for the end.
I hope this helps, and feel free to ask if you have more questions...

      Saludos,
